Ovolo Southside - Connecting Rooms - 2021/05/22

Posted by Diyana Nakai - 2021/05/22 Ovolo Southside - Connecting Rooms Highly recommend Ovolo Southside connecting rooms for families. We’re a family of four; 2 adults and 2 kids from Tokyo. Completely new to HK.  DH works all day so a separate living/ working space was a non-negotiable for us. There are many reviews in this group about the Ovolo but I just wanted to share some additional information for families with little kids.  • I blocked one of the doors with our luggage so our kids can’t open them when we’re not looking.  • Black out curtains are amazing especially when kids need their afternoon nap.  • I sent over a big box (10kg) of free-play toys (magnetic tiles/ blocks) via JapanPost that arrived ahead of us and Concierge kept it for us until we checked in. • We taped postcards from friends and family and read them everyday.  • I put up numbered post-it’s (sakura-shaped because everyone loves sakura) and every morning when the kids get up they lo...

Ramada Grand View (North point) - 2021/05/22

Posted by Esmé Fairhurst - 2021/05/22 Ramada Grand View (North point) I am one day away from finishing quarantine with my boyfriend at the Ramada Grand View (North point) hotel. Just wanted to share some of our experiences as this group has been so useful for us🙏🏽 🌟Food - After seeing some of the food available from the Ramada we were worried, but they’ve defiantly changed the food for the better, lots of rice, lots of sometimes indistinguishable starchy sauces but on the whole very edible and filling. Each meal was delivered to our door but so much plastic was used to hold these meals, I wish we could recycle it🤯. Of course we cheated a bit on weekends with the odd food pander delivery of a cheeky pizza or Mexican! Food panda was also great for our fresh fruit and vegetable cravings. We made sure we always had a well stocked fruit bowl and snacks for alllll the Netflix!  🌟The room - The suite was so good for having a physical wall between where you sleep and where you work, t...

Posted by Ichika Kishi - 2021/05/21 Dorsett Tsuen Wan  Hi all, I just came back to HK 3 days ago and have stayed at Dorsett Tsuen Wan. I can’t tell you everything due to only short Q experience at the moment. This time, I would like to share some for your preparation for Q stay. We decided this hotel because of the location near my husbands company, which we could easily get support from his colleagues. We booked a family suite with sofa bed. We have enough space to relax for two.  1. Make sure the hotel policy just before your stay When we booked, we asked whether we could leave our luggage for Q stay before we left HK. At that time, early in April, they replied they could accept but just before our leaving HK, late April, they couldn’t do because of changing the policy.  We left our luggages at his company, then his colleague brought them to our hotel just after our arrival. 2. Useful tools/appliances what we prepared from our home *Vacuum cleaner: Our room isn’t...

Posted by Freddie Hayward - 2021/05/21 Ovolo SouthSide I've been seeing everyone posting about their hotels and haven't seen mine yet so I thought I'd share the experience. I'm at Ovolo South Side (basically opposite l'hotel) This is a "Mini queen room"  The Good: Bed is very comfortable Amazon Alexa Apple TV Fridge Yoga Mat Resistance bands  Chair Really nice shower My own plant to take care of Lots of different lights and lamps for what mood you're in, and blackout blind.  I'm very very happy the food comes in cardboard containers and they give you reusable cutlery so there's not a lot of plastic waste. Probably only the cups of drinks all come in plastic cups. Staff are here 24/7 to help with any issues and are very friendly 🙂  Food options ( I get sent a menu each day I can choose 4 options for dinner, lunch and breakfast. I can get coffee / tea with breakfast, then soft drinks at happy hour and a complimentary iced tea around lunch. Most ...
